A Fateful Storm

The windows crack

And the storm grows louder

The door frame shakes

And the hail falls harder

The roof caves in

And the shelter is gone

A darkened sky

And a screeching sound.

The windows break

And the storm screams louder

The door frame bursts

And the hail hits harder

The lightning flash

And the thunder boom

A threat to life

And a person’s doom.

The windows gape

And the storm is over

The door is gone

And the hail has littered

The 'roof' is floor

And the shelter is none

A brightened sky

And a ruined home.
